Practice Information
The Practice is a private general practice which serves and conducts primary care to registered patients on a fee paying basis and the Practice acts as sole carer of the patient. Patients may be registered with a National Health Service practitioner elsewhere, in which event the NHS doctor will be kept fully informed of any investigations or treatments. The Practice aims to maintain the highest standards of care, tailoring medical requirements to health needs. The guiding principles are excellence of clinical management, confidentiality, attention to detail, a holistic and flexible approach, a professional and discrete manner, and freedom of choice.
The Practice is open from 0900 hours until 1700 from Monday to Friday when the telephone is directly open to all callers. Outside office hours (1700 to 0900 hours and at weekends and public holidays) the telephone is either transferred to the home number or a message service linked to a pager, giving a prompt response at all times.
It is practice policy to see all medical emergencies on the same day and less urgent cases within 48 hours. Twenty-four hour cover is provided for all patients exclusively registered with the practice. This does not, however, apply to patients who are also registered elsewhere.
Holiday emergency cover is provided by neighbouring professional colleagues who can always be reached through the practice telephone - in these circumstances either via the practice staff during office hours or at other times by a precise message on the practice telephone answering machine.
Patients have open access at all times to their medical records and interpretation of reports is an important feature of the Practice. Confidentiality of records is carefully maintained and the premises are securely locked and electronic records are remotely backed-up daily.
Clinical examination sometimes requires intimate procedures; in this case, a chaperone will always be made available upon request.
